Updates to the Bilateral Protocol Agreement will be co-developed with the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC). A draft of the updated Bilateral Protocol is under discussion.

Initiating this work will require significant staffing, capacity and engagement between the Ministry of Education and Child Care (ECC) and the FNESC.

Highlights

A draft of the updated Bilateral Protocol is being discussed between the FNESC and ECC. 

ECC provided a grant to the FNESC to support their participation in all aspects of policy, program and resource development, including engagement on this action. 

Engagement on a joint approach to this action is still underway due to priorities and readiness of both partners.

Engagement with FNESC on a joint approach to this action is underway to prioritize actions and ensure readiness of both partners.
